How
do I install my copper sink? What are the guidelines for the 5%
discount on advance orders? The discount applies
only when you specify at the time of your order a
delivery date that is at least 90 days in advance. A 50%
deposit is required at the time of your order and the
balance is due prior to shipping. You will be notified
when your hood is ready to ship and payment is required.
We reserve the right to ship your hood early if our
production schedule allows. If it is not possible for
you to receive the hood early, please specify "Do not
ship early" when you order. In the event that you place
your order through this discount program and then you
need to speed up the delivery date, the discount will
not apply and the production time will be based on our
schedule at that time. If you place an order in the
traditional way with our standard turnaround, and need
to delay the past 90 days from the order date, no
discount will apply unless it is within 7 days of the
original order.
Will you hold
the order and ship it at a later date? Yes. We
offer a 5% discount if you order 90 days in advance of
when you need it. This allows us to better manage our
schedule and while you can cross one more thing off your
list.
In the event that your project is limited
in storage space, we can time our shipping to
accommodate your installation schedule. Just let us
know.
Can I order by
telephone? Many people do order by telephone at
888-530-7630. We are open Monday through Friday, 8 am to
4:30 Pacific time. We understand that this is a major
purchase for your home and we are happy to answer any
questions you may have.
What
forms of payment are accepted for online
purchases? We process Visa or Mastercard credit
cards online or via telephone/fax. If you would rather
pay by check, you can print a copy of your shopping cart
and mail it with your payment or call us to receive a
detailed written invoice from which to pay.
Will Copperworks send an order
confirmation via email? Yes. Our online system
will automatically send you an e-mail confirmation and
that's why we ask you to register. If you place an order
via telephone, you will also receive a written
confirmation.
How can I find
out the status of an order placed online? Call
us. Our production is still relatively low-tech and
personal. Call 888-530-7630. In most cases you will talk
to the owner or the person fabricating your
hood.
How can I make a change
or cancel my order? Call or e-mail with any
changes to your order. In the event that you need to
cancel, there may be a 25% cancellation fee. If your
hood is already made, there will be a 50% cancellation
fee.
What is Copperworks'
return policy? Our products are made to order so
we rarely accept an item for return. In the event that
it is damaged, we will always stand behind our shipping
and packing procedures. All shipping damage claims must
be made within 5 days of receipt. If you do suffer
jobsite damage, please send us a photo and we may be
able to offer some quick tips for repair.
How do I return merchandise? All
claims must be documented and made within 5 days of
receipt. Please call or e-mail as soon as
possible.
Do you give discounts
to the trade? We do have a discount program but
it is expressly limited to ASID or CKD Designers with
resale certificates and appliance dealers with our hoods
on display.
If you are a designer with an active
ASID membership or a business as a CKD, please fax your
membership number on your letterhead with a copy of your
resale card to 707-762-5530 and we will contact you with
the discount available.
If you have a showroom in
which you would like to display our products, please all
888-530-7630 and ask for Joe Cain.
In both of
these cases, the payment must be made by the Designer or
Showroom directly with a company check or credit
card.
How do I care for my
copper product? We do not seal any of our copper
products with a clear coat or lacquer. Therefore, the
copper is still exposed to the environment and subject
to changing color. Copper will not rust or break down,
but it does change color to dark shades, reds and
greens. Since it is a chemical reaction that causes a
color change, the pattern of color depends on many
factors and may not be uniform. Commonly, the color
changing agent is oil from fingerprints. One of the
first reactions upon seeing a copper range hood is to
touch it. Within 1 to 5 days, you may see those
fingerprint marks darkening, especially on polished
copper.
How do I install my
copper range hood? NOTE: You will need to provide
mounting hardware for your specific
installation.
1. Align top of hood with duct work
in ceiling or wall. Drill a hole in the top or back for
wiring.
2. Attach collar to ceiling or wall
duct.
3. Slide hood to collar and attach to
ceiling joists or wall studs. You may need to notch the
sheetrock where the hood meets the ceiling to aid in
leveling. The bottom of the hood should be level at this
time.
4. Bend tabs of collar around the top of
the hood to secure. If internal ducting is supplied,
make necessary connection to align with top of fan
unit.
5. Attach wiring of fan unit to house
wiring.
6. Slide fan unit into place from bottom
of hood. Align holes and secure with screws or nuts
provided.
How do I install my
copper sink? For an undermount sink, you can
drill holes through the flange around the sink and
secure it to the countertop. For top mount sinks, slide
the sink down, and secure it with the straps provided to
the countertop. If you are installing a sink between a
granite or stone top and a plywood sub-top, you can
screw it down to the plywood.
A plumber should
install the drain and faucet installation to meet any
code requirements.
